Guitarist Ray Obiedo has been at the forefront of Latin jazz for three decades. With a long list of albums out that seem to always make the Billboard charts, Obiedo's funky percussive guitar playing is rooted in blues, jazz, Latin and pop.
Raised in Oakland, Pete Escovedo has been a major force in Latin music since the late 1960's, and his versatility has resulted in success in several areas of music, from Latin jazz and salsa to rock and Latin pop. After touring with Santana for a few years, Pete and his brother Coke Escovedo founded the 14-piece Latin big band Azteca, recording two albums for Columbia. Since that time, Pete has performed in countless settings with such notables as Herbie Hancock, Woody Herman, Cal Tjader, and Tito Puente.
